The communal kitchen in Churchill Court has recently been refurbished, thanks to partnership working with Magnet and Frank Rogers.
The scheme, in Neston, is made up of five blocks of low rise flats which are allocated predominantly to older people, and within the complex there is a communal lounge and kitchen facility.
Plus Dane is currently carrying out a kitchen refurbishment scheme across areas of Ellesmere Port and Neston as part of the Capital Investment Programme.
Back in June, the EPN Asset Management Team held an open day at Churchill Court for residents to come along, view samples of the proposed kitchens and meet the contractors who would be working in their homes.
During this event, the team noted that the communal kitchen facilities were tired and old, and discussed this with Frank Rogers and Magnet who both agreed to provide materials and labour to refurbish it free of charge over the summer break.
The communal area at Churchill Court is host to Live at Home’s popular lunch clubs twice a week. Manager Jo Hirst said: “From the comments received, everyone is delighted with this refurbishment which has both enhanced the working environment of our volunteers and also lifted spirits amongst our members. We are all very appreciative of the interest shown and support given by Plus Dane.”
